Can the Jetour Ice Cream be your daily EV ride in the city?

Introduced late last year, the Jetour Ice Cream electric vehicle (EV) maybe the most inexpensive EV out in the market today.

Chinese maker Jetour unveiled the compact car during the 2023 Manila International Auto Show, and more and more Ice Creams can now be seen on roads, particularly in the metro.

Jetour is taking a proactive approach to promoting the Ice Cream EV by partnering with local malls for high visibility displays. Early this year, Jetour signed a partnership to display the adorable electric car in all 20 Megaworld Lifestyle Malls.

The unit we saw was priced at P699,000. The battery is lithium-ion, giving the motor a maximum speed of 100 kilometers per hour (kph) and a range of maximum range of 170 kilometers.

RAED MORE EV NEWS.

Maximum power is at 20kilowatts and maximum torque is at 85 newton meters. Charging time 8 hours in your home, but 2 hours in charging stations. Speaking of range, 170 kilometer may seem short, but for metro drives, can be sufficient enough.

Unlike gasoline cars that waste energy idling, an EV’s electric motor shuts off completely when the vehicle stops. Additionally, EVs recover energy lost during braking through regenerative braking, making them especially efficient in city driving with frequent stops and starts.
