Omoda fetes media, influencers in fashion night

Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker Omoda held an exclusive fashion night for members of the media as well as influencers as part of its efforts to further promote its EV brand.

A highlight of the event is the showcasing of several of the latest Omoda and Jaecoo EVs at the Revel At The Palace, a trendy and hip nightlife destination at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.

In a welcome note, Marco Chen, Omoda and Jaecoo Philippines country manager, said the Omoda brand will continue to come up with innovative designs to catch the attention of the younger generation of EV enthusiasts.

Chery’s global push for Omoda and Jaecoo

Chinese automaker Chery launched Omoda in 2022, a sub-brand specifically targeting international markets. Debuting in Russia and Kazakhstan with the C5 crossover in October 2022, Omoda isn’t just a new name – it’s a rebranded version of Chery’s existing Omoda 5.

This strategy extends beyond Omoda. Chery created Jaecoo, another sub-brand exclusive to export markets. Often, Omoda and Jaecoo share dealerships, forming a tag-team approach for global sales.

Chery isn’t just offering new cars; they’re crafting a new image. The name Omoda, a blend of “oxygen” and “modern” in their words, signifies a focus on fresh and innovative driving.

This positioning extends beyond marketing, according to the company. In some markets, Omoda serves as a premium brand within the Chery family, providing a luxury option for discerning customers.
