What are the new features of your GCash app?

GCash, the Philippines’ leading financial technology (fintech) services provider, showcased a slew of groundbreaking innovations recently at this year’s GCash FutureCast event, held at Green Sun Hotel in Makati.

These innovations include artificial intelligence (AI) as well as new security features that GCash unveiled at the recently held “FutureCast 2024.”

The event also highlighted advancements made by the country’s number one e-wallet that is poised to revolutionize the country’s fintech landscape, promising to elevate consumer experiences and promote financial inclusivity.

At this year’s FutureCast event, Martha Sazon, the President and CEO of GCash, passionately highlighted the company’s mission, saying, “Today, you can expect innovations that will ‘change the game’. But the real game-changer is how we can make a meaningful impact on Filipino lives. We innovate not just to provide access but to be partners towards better financial health and wellness.”

State-of-the-art security

The launch event kicked off with a presentation from Pebbles Sy, Chief Technology and Operations Officer of GCash, who led the introduction of “Online PaySafe,” a cutting-edge security feature that leverages multi-factor authentication to ensure secure online transactions.

Pebbles also unveiled “Gigi,” an AI-powered assistant designed to enhance customer support by handling common queries, conducting security checks, and connecting users to live agents when necessary.

To further combat online fraud, the CTOO of GCash also shared that they’ve partnered with Chubb to launch “Send Money Protect,” an affordable insurance option that safeguards transactions against scams.

Innovative design enhancements

Next up was Michelle Fernandez, head of Digital Experience of GCash, who revealed three new app designs aimed at providing a more intuitive user experience.

Fernandez first talked about “Dashboard 3.0,” which features a revamped look with easy navigation while allowing customers to access their favorite GCash products at a glance.

She also introduced “GCat & Friends,” a group of online feline buddies that offer fun, educational money management tools. “Money Manager,” meanwhile, provides real-time spend tracking to help customers manage their finances wisely.

AI-powered experiences and green innovations

Several AI-powered innovations were also introduced at the event, with Sarah Venturina, Chief Data Officer of GCash, and CJ Alegre, GCash Sustainability Head, giving the audience a quick preview of the AI-powered experiences and green innovations that the new GCash app can now offer.

“GScore AI,” an AI-driven trust score, enhances borrowing capabilities by calculating users’ creditworthiness and loan eligibility based on their daily app behavior. “Hyper-Personalized Ads,” powered by AI, tailor offers based on user preferences, while “GCoach AI” provides personalized financial advice, guiding users on effective money management. According to CJ, GCash’s commitment to sustainability is further showcased with “GImpact,” a feature that tracks carbon reduction from transactions. Another feature, “GFarm,” supports Filipino farmers by providing them with fruit tree seedlings, contributing to a more sustainable livelihood and promoting climate action.
