The government plans to launch the eGovPH super app version 2 next week, Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Undersecretary for E-Government David Almirol said.
In a social media post, Almirol said: “We implemented new features, microservice modules, dynamic back-end, encrypted digital National ID and added this new mobile ID wallet.”
The official said in the Philippines, Filipinos currently use more than 40 IDs, hence, “the government is doing its best to unify them in a single unified ID.”
“To cater all other existing IDs, we thought of launching a unified mobile ID wallet, where Filipinos can view their IDs from different government agencies like the National ID, PRC ID, Senior Citizen ID, PWD ID, Philhealth etc.,” the official said.
According to Almirol, all government agencies shall manage and maintain their own respective data, while the DICT eGovernment Data Exchange Platform (eGovDX) shall handle interroperability and eGovernment Blockchain (eGovChain) shall fortify its security.
“The eGovDX was a big success since last year, in addition we plan to launch the eGovChain before the end of the year. We will conduct a public inquiry and consultation on eGovChain this August for the establishment of the 2nd and 3rd nodes,” Almirol said.
The official further said there are now more than 5 million users of the eGov supper app.
“We expect to have around 30 millions user on 2026,” Almirol bared. The government envisions the eGovPH App to serve as single operating system unifying all government services in a single application.
This one-stop-shop platform is expected to provide convenience to the public and facilitate effective transactions with government agencies.
