Inaugural recognition will honor cybersecurity and cyber resilience champions in nine countries in Asia; Awardees will be feted on October 17 in Singapore.
The Philippines’ first Community of Practice on Information Security and Cybersecurity invites Filipino professionals and practitioners to take part in the ASEAN Japan Cybersecurity Community Alliance (AJCCA) inaugural AJCCA Cyber Resilience Awards (ACRA).
The event is dedicated to celebrating and recognizing individuals with outstanding contributions to cybersecurity and cyber resilience across Asia, with a special focus on Japan and ASEAN countries.
ACRA: A platform for cybersecurity professionals
“ACRA provides a platform and opportunity for Filipino cybersecurity professionals to share their experiences to their colleagues in the Asia region and the world,” Lito Averia, president of the Philippine Computer Emergency Response Team (PH-CERT), the Philippines’ first CERT, said.
“As one of the most cyber-attacked countries in the world, the Philippines has its share of cyber resilience stories on how cybersecurity professionals were able to help their respective organizations bounce back from cyber intrusions.”
Dr. Ludi Lumanto, AJCCA founding chairman added: “As digital transformation accelerates, the need for robust cybersecurity measures becomes ever more critical. These awards honor individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to enhancing cyber resilience, ensuring the security and stability of our digital landscape,” said “Across Japan and ASEAN countries, the awards will highlight the diverse and dynamic approaches to cybersecurity and cyber resilience, from emerging digital economies to established technology hubs.”
Promoting regional collaboration
“By showcasing successful initiatives, the awards promote regional collaboration, encourage capacity building, and set benchmarks for excellence that drive the entire region forward.” “ACRA will recognize individuals and their bodies of work from 2019 to August 2024 in cybersecurity and cyber resilience in the AJCCA countries,” said Sam Jacoba, AJCCA Head of Strategic Communications and Brand.
“The nominees will be evaluated based on five criteria that are anchored on the Vision, Mission and Values of AJCCA. These are the following Dynamic Leadership; Resilient; Trustworthy; Respectful, and; Collaborative.”
Jacoba, who is also ACRA Lead Coordinator, further explained that the founding Communities of Practice of the AJCCA will be the sole nominators, validators and reviewers of nominees per country.
They will then select their respective country winners, who will all be part of the finalists that will be evaluated by the ACRA main jury. Among the nine country winners, the ACRA main jury will select one Most Distinguished Awardee and two Distinguished Awardees.
The ACRA will be held on October 17 at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.
To attend the awards, the nine country winners will be given free roundtrip airfare and accommodations in Singapore from their home countries.
