The Philippine government is optimistic about sustained growth in the country’s tourism sector, citing a strong start to the year.
Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro announced tourism revenues surpassed pre-pandemic levels in January, reaching $1.1 billion (or approximately P65.3 billion).
The government attributes this success to improved immigration processes and a stable peace and order situation, fostering confidence among international travelers. “This indicates tourists feel safe visiting our country,” Castro stated.
