Technology brand HONOR Philippines has partnered with the PHINMA Foundation to launch “Pad Your Way to the Future,” a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative aimed at bridging the digital learning gap through the donation of devices to underprivileged students.
Held at the Philippine Normal University in Manila, the launch marked the formal turnover of 25 HONOR Pad X9a tablets to PHINMA Foundation scholars. These students, hailing from different schools across the country, now have access to digital tools designed to support their academic journey—tools that, until recently, many could only dream of.

> “This partnership with PHINMA Foundation is more than just a formal agreement—it’s a heartfelt commitment to shaping a better future through education,” said Stephen Cheng, Vice President of HONOR Philippines. “We believe in the power of technology to transform lives, especially when placed in the hands of passionate learners and educators.”
The event served as a public affirmation of the long-term partnership between the two organizations, formalized through a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to pursue more education-focused initiatives together.
The donated HONOR Pad X9a tablets come equipped with expansive displays, AI-powered learning features, and extended battery life—tools meant to address the academic needs of modern students. These features, the partners emphasized, will be crucial in helping students overcome the digital divide.
> “Many of our scholars face daily struggles—not just academically, but in simply accessing learning tools,” said Ron Ranier Reyes, Executive Director of the PHINMA Foundation. “Some borrow phones or wait for their turn at a public computer. This donation could not have come at a better time.”
Among the student beneficiaries was Josua Romero of Philippine Normal University, who delivered an emotional speech during the ceremony. “This tablet isn’t just a device—it’s hope,” he said. “Hope that I can study more effectively, stay organized, and access new opportunities that were once out of reach.”
Romero went on to create an acronym to define what HONOR means to him:
H – Help in Learning
O – Organization of Tasks
N – New Opportunities
O – On-the-Go Studying
R – Resource for Growth

The program also featured an interactive product demo of the HONOR Pad X9a and a networking lunch, allowing the students and partners to celebrate the spirit of collaboration.
For traditional media outlets, this partnership demonstrates how legacy educational institutions and global tech brands can unite to produce tangible impact. It highlights a growing role for CSR in the education sector and offers a model for how companies can take active steps to foster inclusivity in learning.
As HONOR continues its mission of “no learner left behind,” and PHINMA Foundation remains committed to nation-building through education, their alliance sets a precedent for purpose-driven partnerships in the digital age.
