At its 2025 Annual Stockholders’ Meeting, PLDT Inc., the Philippines’ largest fully integrated telecommunications network, released its first combined Annual and Sustainability Report, integrating both business and ESG (environmental, social, and governance) performance highlights.
Titled “AI and the New Generation of Leaders,” the report outlines PLDT’s perspective on the rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI), while emphasizing its ongoing efforts to invest in digital infrastructure, develop emerging leaders, create long-term stakeholder value, and uphold responsible business practices.
The report was reviewed and approved by PLDT’s Board of Directors through its Governance, Nomination, and Sustainability Committee and Audit Committee. It covers the company’s full-year operational performance, including updates from subsidiaries such as Smart Communications, Inc., ePLDT, Inc., VITRO, Inc., PLDT Global Corporation, Multisys Technologies Corporation, associate company Maya Philippines, Inc., and its social outreach arm, PLDT-Smart Foundation.
The integrated report follows key global ESG disclosure frameworks, including:
Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards
Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB)
Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)
Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD)
Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact
GSMA ESG Metrics for Mobile
It also features the company’s Integrated Annual Corporate Governance Report and tracks the PLDT Group’s contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).
Additionally, the report includes audited financial statements and externally assured ESG disclosures by SyCip Gorres Velayo & Co. (SGV), a member of Ernst & Young Global.
As further recognition of its commitment to global ESG standards, PLDT was included in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2025, making it the only Philippine company among just 780 companies worldwide to be featured.
