‘Smart Cares’ supports customers and communities in distress

As the country grapples with the ongoing typhoon season, PLDT Inc.’s wireless subsidiary, Smart Communications, Inc., continues to find ways to provide extra assistance to affected customers and communities.

The Smart Cares Crisis Hotline (+63288457799) is a dedicated channel for users needing help reconnecting with loved ones, accessing safety advisories, or navigating urgent communication challenges. Launched to assist individuals in distress during the recent Israel-Iran conflict, the hotline now also serves as a lifeline during natural calamities and other emergencies.

The Smart Care Crisis Toll-Free Hotline offers connectivity troubleshooting for Smart users impacted by disasters, and assistance for those unable to reach family members in the Philippines.

It also offers support for Filipinos needing to contact government agencies such as the Philippine Embassy or OWWA, and provides verified safety information, including NDRRMC hotline numbers.

While the Smart Care Crisis Toll-Free Hotline does not provide direct call connections, it helps relay critical messages when conventional channels are unavailable. It complements existing government and NGO hotlines, offering a centralized, telco-enabled support system for Smart and TNT users.

To further support customers in times of distress, Smart and TNT continue to offer emergency mobile load services through Smart Prepaid Loan-A-Load and TNT Utang na Load, enabling qualified users to borrow load and maintain access to essential communication services.

The Crisis Toll-Free Hotline is a key component of Smart Cares, Smart’s multifaceted drive to elevate the quality of customer experience across the country. It also aligns with PLDT and Smart’s much broader program to promote disaster resilience. By leveraging telecommunications infrastructure to provide timely assistance and ensure uninterrupted connectivity during emergencies, the PLDT Group contributes to building resilient communities and promoting inclusive access to essential services.
