The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority has introduced the TESDA Skills Passport, a mobile-first digital platform designed to streamline access to training, certifications, employment opportunities, and scholarships for Filipinos.
Unveiled at the Makabagong San Juan Theater, the launch featured President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and TESDA Director General Kiko Benitez, who positioned the app as a cornerstone of efforts to modernize technical-vocational education and training and expand access to skills development nationwide.
Since assuming leadership of TESDA in August 2024, Benitez has emphasized strengthening the link between training and employment while aligning programs with evolving industry demand. The rollout of the Skills Passport marks a significant step toward that goal.
“Skills are the engine of opportunity, and with the TESDA Skills Passport we now have a stronger system to provide and verify training and certifications,” Benitez said. “With this super app, skills become more accessible and visible so training leads to employment.”
Digital identity for skills and credentials
The TESDA Skills Passport functions as a secure digital identity and portfolio, enabling users to store, manage, and present verified credentials. Core features include a digital record of National Certificates and completed training, supported by a QR-enabled résumé that can be shared with employers.
A built-in job hub aggregates listings from partner employment platforms and includes a “Find a TESDAn” function that matches graduates with opportunities based on location, industry, and salary preferences.
Users can also access curated learning pathways through the TESDA Online Program, which provides free courses and personalized recommendations aligned with career goals. Scholarship information is integrated in real time through synchronization with the Biometric-enabled Scholarship Registration System, allowing applicants to filter programs and track status directly within the app.
A map-based locator helps users find accredited training, assessment, and technology institutions nationwide.
Security, verification, and national workforce goals
The platform incorporates identity verification and data-security safeguards, including validation through the national identification system, to protect learner records and ensure credential accuracy.
During the launch, President Marcos Jr. became the platform’s first official user, formally activating the service and underscoring the administration’s push for digital transformation in government and workforce development.
Government officials, industry stakeholders, and hundreds of TESDA learners attended the event, highlighting broad sector support for strengthening the country’s technical-vocational ecosystem.
As the Philippines prepares for its ASEAN chairmanship, the Skills Passport is positioned to support a more digitally enabled workforce capable of meeting regional and global labor market demands.
The TESDA Skills Passport is now available for download on Android and iOS devices.
